Functieomschrijving The Product Owner is a member of the Agile Team and is responsible for defining stories and prioritising the team backlog in order to simplify the execution of the program priorities. Within Dimension Data, they are also responsible for the conceptual and technical integrity of the features aswell as the systems and process operational integrity.
The Product Owner role spans the lifecycle of a Product, from Minimum Viable Product (MVP), through to the retiring of a product. They work closely with Product Management, Service Delivery, Service Architecture and Platform Delivery in order to deliver on their mandate.
The Product Owner maintains a key responsibility towards Quality Control and is the only team member empowered to accept stories completed.
They operate as the content authority at a Team level and work towards optimising the return on investment (ROI) by ensuring the Scrum Team members are engaged in delivering the most valuable product features.
The Product Owner within Dimension Data’s application of the role will also be responsible for the operational aspects of a Product lifecycle, through to Retirement of the product. They will work closely with the Operational teams and GTM Product Managers to ensure the continual optimization of the product to improve operations and product profitability.
Responsibilities
Provide vision and direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders
Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of prior prepared tasks to work on
Plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the offer/product
Fully understand the product vision, roadmap and growth opportunities to enable onward articulation into the development team
Drive pilot clients through the transition process
Assist the transition team with any gaps in enabling new capabilities and features
Assess value, prioritise backlog items based on this value, time, and other team dependencies determined in the PI planning meeting and refined during the PI, to ensure focus on those with maximum value that are aligned with the offer/product strategy
Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories
Work closely with Product Management to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value or ROI
Lead the planning product release plans and set expectation for delivery of new functionality/capability
Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of release and iteration goals
Establish story acceptance criteria, accepts stories into the baseline
Ongoing operational ownership of the Product post MVP completion
Capture and maintain Service Delivery capabilities
Establish a continual engagement with the GTM and Operational teams
Build out dashboards and product optimization strategie
