Purpose of Position:
- To assist the Controller – EMEA in the day-to-day management and accounting and financial accounting functions, including the provision of accurate and timely reports to the management team
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Responsibility for accounting records (Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet etc.) and maintaining accuracy of general ledger
- Co-ordinate the project accounting requirements (revenue recognition, milestone invoices, deferred revenue) and extracting project reports from SAP for analysis and investigation of variances
- Proactively manage the Accounts Receivable ledger to ensure timely recovery of all debts and where required, enlist support of Account Managers to recover overdue amounts
- Assist with uploading and checking of monthly financial and statistical reports in OneStream (OS) system
- Assist with the migration process of new acquisitions and work with SAP Migration team to ensure timely and accurate transition to Clients Mining processes
- Timely lodgment of all statutory returns, reports and renewals. (BBBEE, Annual Return of Earnings etc.)
- Participation in yearly company audits and liaison with external audit team
- Assist in the month end and quarter end close process – journals, cost allocations, recharges etc.
- Assist with ongoing forecasts of Leica’s projected financial performance
- Compliance with Clients Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures, participation in audits and compliance with instructions given in respect of himself/herself and the safety of others

Knowledge and Experience - Required:
- Bachelor of Accounting/Commerce/Business or similar degree
- Minimum of 3-5 years commercial experience in similar role
- Project Accounting/Management Accounting experience
- Demonstrated high level experience in analyzing complex business and accounting problems and developing solutions to such problems
- Demonstrated experience in a managerial and financial accounting environment using integrated/interfaced computerized financial systems
Knowledge and Experience - Desired:
- Proven financial, management and reporting skills
- Advanced understanding of integrated computerized financial systems
- Working knowledge of SAP ERP system desirable
