Job title: Junior Financial Accountant
Our client, a leader in the investment industry, is based in Century City, Cape Town and they are looking to hire a young Junior Financial Accountant to join their team as soon as possible.

Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct cashbook reconciliations, including meticulous debtors’ payment allocations.
- Capture and allocate supplier invoices.
- Capture customer invoices (Events / Wine Sales, Sales)
- Oversee creditors reconciliations with a keen eye for accuracy.
- Maintain and file financial records diligently.
- Provide regular updates on cash flow forecasts, contributing to strategic financial planning.
- Collaborate in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and ad-hoc financial estimates.
- Analyze complex financial records and reports to provide actionable insights.
- Support management with comprehensive account reconciliations and reporting.
- Ensure timely submission of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual results.
- Facilitate auditors during year-end audits, handling queries and requests efficiently.
- Assist in compiling board packs and handling confidential information with discretion.
- Manage fixed assets schedules and processing of relevant journals.
- Support senior finance in ad hoc reporting, projects, and expansion plans.
- Undertake other financial duties as required, exhibiting adaptability and initiative.
- Maintain accurate financial records by entering data into accounting software and spreadsheets.
- Create and share weekly/monthly financial flash reports.
- Enhance operational efficiencies through continuous improvement.
- Reconcile Sales / Stock, events and utility accounts (VM)
- Prepare monthly payment list with supporting documents.
- Keep track of relevant project costs and allocate costs / disbursements according per project.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred; Diploma in Financial Accounting or completed articles (SAIPA/CIMA) advantageous.
- Proficiency in Excel (Intermediate) and Xero (advantageous).
- Experience in the project finance industry preferred.
- Own transport and ability to work under pressure independently.
- Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
Working hours: Full time permanent position based in office.
Area: Cape Town, CBD.
Salary: R30 000-R40 000.
