Ogilvy South Africa is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic Head Office Finance Team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process for a portfolio of smaller companies, assisting the Financial Accountant with various reconciliations and journal entries, and providing administrative support for company secretarial tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Month-End Close Process: Prepare and post journal entries for assigned companies. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies. Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and reports. Assist with month end reporting submission. Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end tasks.
Financial Accounting Support: Assist the Financial Accountant with bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, and other accounting tasks. Prepare and process purchase orders. Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Company Secretarial Assistance: Assist with the preparation and filing of company secretarial documents. Complete and submit various forms and applications. Maintain statutory records and registers.
Trust Accounting: Process month-end accounting entries for various trusts. Reconcile trust accounts and prepare related reports and management packs.
Other Duties:
Provide administrative support to the Finance Team as needed. Assist with ad hoc projects and tasks.
Experience: Minimum Grade 12 with Accounting as a subject. Previous experience as a Junior Accountant or in a similar role is advantageous.
Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Other Requirements: Own reliable transportation. Willingness to work overtime when required. Commitment to working from the office.
