What will you be doing?
We are looking for an experienced HR Director / Head of Talent to help support the business over a 7-month contract period for a maternity cover. The contract will run from 1 November 2024 – 30 May 2025.
As the interim HR Director, you will be responsible upholding the human resources strategy that supports our mission of impact, as well as our strategic and business goals. Your role will be overseeing the end-to-end human resource function in line with relevant, updated global best practices and local legalities. This role entails maintaining a unified organisational culture, organisational design in line with desired culture, talent acquisition, retention and engagement, and ensuring processes and practices are in place to promote a high-performing and motivated workforce.
Job Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
In supporting the 2025 the Circana HR Strategy and provide strategic HR leadership within the business.
Execute the people strategy through a savvy HR infrastructure and in partnership with local business and the Global HR
Effective and comprehensive costing, budgeting, and expense management, taking all overlapping site activities into consideration
while reducing wastage, and contributing to overall profitability.
Ensure that all existing HR projects continued and monitored in the achievement of the desired outcomes.
Team Leadership
Stay abreast of own and team professional & personal learning & development.
Ensure adequate HR team capacity management and cultivate the HR team's capability to ensure optimal business partnering across
Circana’s business units.
Legal Compliance and Policy Leadership
Drive the company policies and best-practices that are relevant for the business and aligns with Circana’s employee value proposition
and ensure these remain current and effective through ongoing refinement.
Drive transformation through optimizing Circana’s BBBEE contribution in terms of management control and skills development.
Ensure all mandatory submissions are met during your contract time (EE, **WSP, **ATR, **BBBEE, **COIDA)
Take accountability for company compliance with all relevant HR related legislation in the countries that Circana operate and guide the
business on any legislative changes.
HRIS & System Efficiencies
Implement, and monitor fit for purpose and cost effective HRIS systems and ensuring sound information is extracted, trended, and
reported, to address business challenges and drive culture & people transformation.
Support in the global payroll system assessment and deployment whilst ensuring SA legal reporting and tax adherence is not impacted
Organisational Design
Organisational structuring & overseeing the defining of roles and responsibilities, ensuring the team remain optimal so to alleviate
bottlenecks within the company’s operations.
Conduct job evaluations, grading & ongoing market benchmarking related to pay and benefits to ensure Circana remains competitive
within the market and in partnership with the Comp & Ben COE.
Continue to attract and retain suitable talent aligned to culture and job fit. This is done through ensuring an optimal company culture,

Ensure the performance management philosophy and methodology is well designed, defined and executed so to drive a seamless

Industrial Relations
Ensure sound employee relations are upheld that fosters ubuntu and drives on time and in full delivery.
Have a sound industrial relations infrastructure and represent the company externally related to employment related litigation.
Support local teams through any PIP, Incapacity or Disciplinary processes in adherence with the Disciplinary code
Consultative Partnership
Continuously present key opportunities and synergies that will improve and/ or expand the business within own and/ or other
departments.
Partner with the management team and global HR team to proactively mitigate risks and find solutions where possible.
Payroll Changes
Double check data validity and HRIS extracts that the HRBP will input to payroll and ensure all payroll audit controls are adhered to
Partner with the fund managers to ensure all provident and group life benefits or changes are well managed
Oversee that all Discovery and medical aid queries have been attended to by the HRBP and all new hires, exits and changes are
managed in accordance with the terms of employment and in systems ( Atlas and Sage)
Requirements
B-Comm degree / post graduate degree in the field of HR/ Industrial Psychology / Labour Legislation
10 years relevant experience in a Human Capital management, of which 4 years’ experience at team and business management level.
Industry experience, especially within pharmaceutical, is advantageous.
Knowledge of sound HR practices, strategy, and technology
Policy and process development.
Business and Human Capital projects.
Leadership methodology and leading organisational change.
Writing, metrics development and management/ board level reporting.
Practiced and tested knowledge of South Africa’s Labour Legislation, pragmatic application of Industrial Relations and representing the
company at Union engagements, CCMA, Labour Court, and the Department of Labour.
