We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Facilities Manager position within the Industrialisation Department . The position will report to the Head of Industrialisation and is based in Dunnottar, Nigel (Gauteng Province).
Job Purpose
Establish, lead and manage the planned preventative maintenance activities within Gibela within the Facilities scope viz. Site infrastructure incorporating Buildings, Site ancillary equipment, Supply Chain plant equipment, Site services. Project management – future developments, construction works and facility improvements, environmental & energy-related projects. Management and coordination of FM Service Provider technical team, Sub-contractors and Suppliers. Facilities Management lead in ideating & advising on technical solutions/proposals. Build a solid relation with internal customers / stakeholders, OEM Suppliers and external Service Providers.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day to day Facility Management of Dunnottar site, ensuring that activities are delivered within the required time, budget and quality constraints. Ensure the optimum functioning of facilities equipment, infrastructure and allied plant. Manage contractors and vendors relationships. Manage service contracts to ensure facility management needs are being met and services delivered in a timeous manner. Participate in the assessment and selection of suppliers and OEM’s for facility management, maintenance, new business awards and project management. Ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with strict Health & Safety procedures as laid down by Legislation, OEM instructions, OHS Act and AZDP. Ensure adherence to relevant Company procedures, policies and governance. Provide engineering expertise (from a consultant basis) as and when required to problem solve and mitigate work stoppages and production delays. Coordinate, design, engineer and implement effective project management as and when required. Plan and effectively organise the Facilities & Infrastructure-related planned maintenance activities.. Ensure adequate resources are available on site and timely manage any unforeseen delays. Oversee the implementation of the CMMS program for the Facilities & Infrastructure. Ensure efficient recording on and analysis from the CMMS. Supervise and support FM Team in achieving deliverables. Ensure sustained performance of all critical equipment – continuous improvement, MTBF
Minimum Requirements
Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical. A minimum of 5 to 10 years’ experience within a complex industrial site, cross-functional organization, asset care, & manufacturing experience on Rolling Stock. Experience In managing people and contractors.

Business understanding and desired knowledge/experience. Knowledge of facilities management in a complex environment Good knowledge of production operations and manufacturing experience. Understanding of project management Proven background in Facility Management and Maintenance activities. Be a decision maker. Strong Team management and Leadership skills. Be a self-starter – solutions driven approach to solve problems quickly.
