Then join us as Technical & Development Manager at VELUX Commercial, with the primary office base being our Blyth office in the North East of England. Ideally, we are looking for candidates who are located in or around the midlands area or north of this (up to central belt of Scotland). Good access to major road networks is essential for the role.
Your challenges
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and developing the technical and product offer within VELUX Commercial. This role is also responsible for ensuring that our products and systems meet the growing requirements of the market in terms of performance, testing and compliance. It is also essential that you are an ambitious, persistent, energetic and committed individual who will be able to deliver great customer service and progress VELUX Commercial in the market of daylight, ventilation and smoke control.
Your primary tasks include:
Management of the technical services function to deliver great service and accuracy to internal and external stakeholders. Management of the Product portfolio to ensure it exceeds the needs of the market in performance, testing, information and compliance. Manage the innovation of the VELUX commercial product portfolio to anticipate needs of the market and our customers. Raise VC full product portfolio awareness through delivering company training presentations and CPDs. Build effective working relationships with relevant trade, industry and regulatory bodies. Strong focus on managing the product portfolio and developing growth opportunities. Conduct site and customer visits as and when required (Working at height Maintain high relevancy for VC within the commercial market. Establish VC products as a clear choice in both market share and market opinion. Work both individually and with colleagues to achieve company strategy objectives, targets and goals. Monitor market potential and identify technical opportunities to support growth objectives Work closely across the VC sales team, sharing market intelligence and driving opportunities alongside relevant colleagues. Demonstrate and contribute to a positive VC team culture that is aligned with the VELUX values and drives towards to aims and ambitions of the company.
Your qualifications/ Skills

Strong technical and commercial background Direct experience of technical development and management Managing product portfolio Experience of using a CRM system Technical services experience Experience reading architectural/construction drawings and plans Knowledge of current building regulations Technical product knowledge Experience in roof construction, facades, glazing Experience presenting to customers Strong networking skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to develop professional working relationships at all levels Highly organised with excellent planning skills, ability to focus on the right thing at the right time Strong customer service skills Team player Experience with product testing and compliance (CCPI an advantage) Strong computer literacy skills; Microsoft Office Packages and Barbour ABI or similar Full UK driving licence Passport
In addition, occasional overnight travel (approximately 4-5 nights per month, depending on location) may be required. Working at heights may occasionally be required.
