Hire Resolve’s client in the Pharmaceutical Industry is looking for an Inbound Manager to join their team in Gauteng. The inbound manager monitors & tracks receipt, storage, and issue of materials and products; plans & maintains the warehouse, investigates issues related to delivery, rejections, etc. ensures preparedness of
facility for audits; and coordinate materials movements within internal & external stakeholders
Responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the inbound logistics operations for pharmaceutical products, including receiving, inspecting, storing, and distributing incoming shipments. Develop and implement strategies to optimize inbound processes, ensure on-time delivery, and minimize costs. Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to coordinate inbound shipments and resolve any issues that may arise. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inbound logistics, such as supplier compliance, inventory levels, and transportation costs. Implement best practices in inventory management, including FIFO (first in, first out) and batch tracing for pharmaceutical products. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for inbound logistics of pharmaceutical products. Lead a team of inbound logistics staff, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback as needed. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customs officials, and internal departments, to support inbound logistics activities. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in inbound logistics processes, technology, and systems.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in inbound logistics management, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry. Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, import/export requirements, and pharmaceutical supply chain best practices. Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in logistics software and systems, such as SAP, Oracle, or WMS. Ability to work well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. Certification in supply chain or logistics management (., CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
