Job Title: Reporting Accountant

Purpose: To provide accurate analysis, validation, trends and meaningful commentary on variances for the consolidated results. The role provides an intermediary function between Group and business and as such is not involved with number
generation. A strong focus deals with the co- ordination, report preparation and presentations at all levels. It includes providing the final layer of defense and crafting data into a high-quality report, product fit for market and
as such is the overall results custodian.
Qualification & Experience Required:
- CA(SA)
- 3 years post-articles experience (Banking experience would be beneficial)

Critical Performance Areas
The successful candidate will join the Corporate Accounting team as Reporting Accountant. Responsibilities will include:
- Coordination and preparation of various reports and presentations
- Preparation of AFS supplementary schedules
- Ensuring that all reports and presentations are taken through the appropriate review mechanisms and are submitted timeously
- Solid understanding of management accounting entries and legal consolidations as they impact reporting
- Strong working knowledge of data sources and how to extract data, including systems and Financial Accounting Schedules (FAS)
- Knowledge of BA returns will be advantageous
- Analyse, feedback, and interpret consolidated results
- Strong business insights focus to provide value add to clients with improved processes and reports
- Ensure that reporting requirements are identified timeously and implemented in month end, budget, or year-end processes
- Respond to ad hoc queries
- Obtain a strong working knowledge of client’s business
- Develop a strong, effective working relationship with clients (CFOs, accountants)
- Provide project capability to RCA where appropriate
- Build and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders, displaying excellent abilities to initiate dialogue, listen, advise, influence and negotiate to achieve win-win outcomes
- Make recommendations to the business to improve on processes and efficiencies where necessary
