Large and well-established group in the agriculture sector is on the lookout for and a motivated and experienced Financial Accountant. This group has interests across the country and this role will be situated in Port Elizabeth.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ of accounting and finance experience with post-article experience a definite benefit. Commercial or article exposure within the agriculture, citrus, processing, or production environment will be highly beneficial.
The candidate will perform the duties normally associated with an accounting and management accounting role, however, will also directly support the Divisional Financial Manager in areas such as finance, risk, internal control improvements and data accuracy. The incumbent will also take responsibility of managing the accounting team and effecting process improvements. Thus, this role is an opportunity to enhance accounting and finance skills, but also to get involved in a more operational capacity.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage company financial information effectively and efficiently.
- Prepare Management Accounts.
- Oversee and manage bookkeepers and admin staff.
- Review processing Cash Books and allocating income and expenses.
- Manage and review Online Banking transactions and reports.
- Review reconciliation of Accounts (Debtors, Creditors and Bank).
- Manage and review Accounts Payable and Receivable functions.
- Assisting with CAPEX, Fixed Assets and asset management.
- Posting Monthly Journals.
- Petty Cash and Credit Card management and reconciliation.
- Assist in Expense Analysis report.
- Assist with financial audits.
- Investigate financial discrepancies and irregularities.
- Data management and processing.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or similar.
- Completed SAICA, SAIPA, CIMA articles preferred.
- PA(SA), AGA(SA) or CIMA designation seen as a positive.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience.
- MS Excel skills essential.
- Agriculture, Citrus, processing, manufacturing, or production environment beneficial.
Remuneration:
- R300,000 to R420,000 per annum ctc.
