A large consulting company with offices across South Africa and internationally is looking for a Solar PV Lead to join their team in Johannesburg

Minimum requirements:
•A degree in a relevant engineering, technical or scientific discipline.
•Significant experience in the delivery of onshore projects, ideally within South Africa and international experience of several of the company’s core services on utility-scale projects
•Must be professionally registered or close to registration.
•Minimum 7 years’ experience in solar energy
•Some experience in business development and/or winning work
•Solar PV technical design
•Solar PV modelling (PVsyst, Helioscope)
•Electrical infrastructure (DC, LV and MV)
•Working understanding of the development process for IPPs in the renewable energy space
•Understanding of EPC, BOP, PPAs and key utility scale contracts
•Project Management (PMP preferred)
•Working understanding of the South African Grid Code, Eskom Grid Access process
•Working understanding of substation and OHL
Your responsibilities will include:
•Energy yield and resources assessments
•Site layouts and optimization, concept design, and feasibility studies
•Technical due diligence for Merger and Acquisition (M&A) transactions
•Lender’s Technical Advisor (LTA) scopes of work
•Project development and Owner’s Engineer (OE) scope of work, including tendering and contracting support, construction monitoring, and management, and technical advisory
•Health and Safety
