Job Purpose / Scope of Position
We are currently looking for a confident, dynamic, and vibrant Key Account Manager to join our sales team in Cape Town to effectively market & sell products in a professional capacity by establishing new business relationships & maintaining relationships with existing clients. This team player should be an outspoken, highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships.
Key Accountabilities
- Managing existing accounts meeting all needs of the customer.
- New Business Development.
- Implement sales strategies/ Business plans aligned to meet sales targets.
- Maintain excellence in customer relations with both existing and new client base.
- Reaching monthly and quarterly targets
- Retail experience – tracking of weekly/ Monthly sell in and sell out run rate business.
- Ability to accurately plan/ manage customer and company inventory monthly.
- Provide competitive information such as tenders, industry trends, market related pricing, data etc.
- Improve product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Submission of planners and reports as requested by Sales Manager
Core Activities
- Present, promote and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers.
- Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs.
- Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships.
- Reach out to customer leads through cold calling.
- Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction.
- Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule.
- Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments.
- Analyse the territory/market’s potential, track sales and status reports.
- Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
- Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends.
- Continuously improve through feedback.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Qualification/Certification in sales, business management, marketing or another relevant field required.
- At least 3 years-experience in a Sales Representative role preferably in the telecommunications industry.
- Proven track record to meet or exceed defined sales targets.
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Experience on SAP would be an advantage.
- Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
