Job Title: Site Manager
Location: Northern Cape, South Africa
Hire Resolve’s client is looking for an experienced and dedicated Site Manager to oversee all aspects of construction projects in the Northern Cape. The Site Manager will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the construction process, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of construction processes and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Manage and supervise all construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines, building codes, and regulations. Monitor progress of projects and coordinate with project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, architects, and engineers, to ensure effective communication and timely completion of tasks. Develop and implement construction schedules, manage budgets, and allocate resources effectively to meet project goals and deadlines. Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and feasibility, and provide technical expertise and advice when needed. Conduct regular inspections to assess the quality of workmanship, adherence to specifications, and compliance with safety standards. Identify and resolve construction issues, including design changes, unforeseen obstacles, and scheduling conflicts, in a timely and cost-effective manner. Hire, train, and manage site staff, including contractors and construction workers, to ensure a skilled and productive workforce. Collaborate with procurement teams to source and select subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, and negotiate contracts ensuring the best possible value for the project. Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily progress reports, change orders, and material records, and provide regular progress updates to project stakeholders. Stay updated on construction industry trends, regulations, and best practices, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance construction processes and deliver best-in-class results.
Requirements:
Minimum of a National Diploma in electrical or mechatronic engineering; BTech preferred (or NQF equivalent)
Proven knowledge of renewable plant management (or similar industrial plant) is required, including:
Demonstrated knowledge of wind farm systems and operations
Able to read and understand technical drawings
Exposure to/knowledge of SCADA Systems, HV and MV power systems, transformers, solar PV system
(inverters and PV panels)
Experience in switching LV and MV systems
Working knowledge of power system protection
Demonstrated experience in the maintenance of LV and 33 kV cable systems including fault location and
diagnostics
Ideally, two years’ supervisory experience
Proven excellent safety record OHS Act knowledge – Health and Safety.
General ERP/CMMS experience is an advantage
Demonstrated competence in the use of Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word and Excel is
required. Competence in PowerPoint is an advantage
Valid Code B driver’s license is a requirement
