ENVIRONMENT:
A Randburg-based independent engineering firm is actively looking for a Design Engineer to enhance their team. This firm offers established businesses access to an in-house engineering department for the development of products and engineered solutions. The ideal candidate for this role will take charge of the complete design process, starting from conceptualization and concluding with production. Your responsibilities will encompass generating fresh designs and revising existing ones, all while ensuring they comply with relevant design criteria. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and possess proficiency in Solidworks, backed by 2-3 years of post-university experience in CAD. DUTIES: Draw, update, and maintain designs Manage multiple complex projects at the same time Ensure their designs meet manufacturing, technical and customer requirements Ensure that all design projects are completed within budget and time Development of concept of operations Development of system requirement specifications Development of user requirements Development of 3D models and manufacturing drawings Development of CNC instruction Quality inspection of parts made and assembled Interaction with clients Site visits and commissioning REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering CAD experience Proficient in Solidworks (2-3 years post university experience) Worked using PDM and vaults PDM Administration would be advantageous Hands on experience with machines Sage accounting experience Proficient in office products such as teams, excel and word ATTRIBUTES: Strong organizational and communication skills
