Preferred Requirements:
Dip (Production Management, Mechanical or Electrical Heavy Current)/ Eng. (Mechanical or Electrical Heavy Current). Post-graduate qualification or certificate course in business management, management accounting or similar would be advantageous.
Minimum years of experience in heavy engineering production or fabrication environment, with the at least the last 5 years in a senior management position.
Exposure to utility boiler and steam piping maintenance would be advantageous.
Knowledge of induction bending, high pressure piping, pressure vessels and boiler pressure part production.
Practical knowledge of welding processes.
Proficient in reading engineering drawings.
Sound knowledge of fabrication processes and workflow.
Project Management in a fabrication environment.
Understands the commercial aspects of fabrication projects.
Entrepreneurial approach to tendering and operations management.
Competent in management accounting and able to interpret financial statements with a view to initiating changes on the shop floor.
