Aon South Africa is recruiting a Business Development Manager in our Employee Benefits department, based on a hybrid basis, from our Head Office in Sandton. The role of a New Business Development Manager is to identify new business opportunities, organize initial client meetings and support the drive of new and existing revenue streams.

What the day will look like
Proactively look for opportunities for new business
Generate new business and close deals upon referrals. Responsible for implementation and take-on
Develop professional expertise
Apply company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
Possess an awareness of larger team/department strategies and customer needs
Network and promote the Group brand and build strong relationships within the EBS industry
Establish future clients’ needs and business drivers
Prepare for future client contact by carrying out client research to understand their business
Build a trusted relationship with future clients through questioning and influencing skills.
Have close working relationships with the client management and bid management teams and bring them into the relationship at the appropriate time
Manage pipeline effectively
Achieve Budgeted revenue targets
Able to work in cross functional (matrix) teams

Skills and experience that will lead to success
Qualifications
A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent A Bachelor’s degree is preferable Must be registered as a representative with the FSB in terms of the FAIS Act NQF5 Wealth Management / Healthcare experience (advantage) and Retirement fund consulting experience
Knowledge
High level of technical knowledge in order to be able to articulate solutions to clients An in-depth strategic knowledge of industry and business strategies and company goals Computer literacy with advanced know-how in MS Word and Excel.

Excellent planning skills – can prioritise time to deal with a large portfolio of future clients Experience
Have a minimum of 7 - 10 years’ experience in a similar or related role in Healthcare and/or Retirement Funding Have a solid sales background (proven track record) Be dependable and respect confidentiality Have a high work ethic and must have the ability to function effectively under pressure
