Knight Piésold Southern Africa is an International Engineering and Environmental Consulting company providing services mainly to the mining, water supply, and civil engineering industries. We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our dynamic Phalaborwa team.
Minimum Requirements:
The ideal candidate must have a BSc/BEng (Civil) degree. Specialisation in the geotechnical aspect of civil engineering in a mining environment with at least three years of experience. Extensive experience in the mining and geotechnical engineering field is essential. Experience in the design and management of tailings storage facilities. Experience in mining infrastructure projects. Excellent project management skills will be seen as an advantage as well as experience in site investigations. Sound client relations are key. The candidate must be willing to work independently and take ownership of projects. PR Eng will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide engineering input from inception to design and ultimately to construction and project closure. To assist in producing designs that meet the client’s requirements. Working closely with the draughtsperson. Drafts and final preparation of tender construction drawings, bills of quantities, and forms of contracts. Assist with proposal development and project abstracts. Site monitoring. Provide technical guidance to junior staff.
