As a Automation and Instrument Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes in Kerry Hammarsdale by installing, maintaining, and repairing critical measuring and control devices.
Key responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair a wide range of instrumentation, including pneumatic, electronic, and microcomputer devices used to measure and control pressure, flow, temperature, level, motion, force, and chemical composition. Provide technical support for variable speed drives, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces) from various manufacturers (e.g., Rockwell, Siemens). Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to network switches, cables, and IT equipment.
Qualifications and skills
National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation. Trade certificate as an Instrument Mechanician is a plus. Minimum of 3 years' experience working in a food manufacturing environment. Strong understanding and experience with control systems, including SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and PLCs. Extensive technical knowledge of instrumentation, HAZOP studies (Hazard and Operability Studies), P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and quality standards. Experience with SAP is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
