Main purpose of the role
The Senior Solutions Design and Analyst Engineer will be part of the Solution and Pricing department and will work closely with business development and facility general managers to maintain and growth the DSV Solutions business. Business growth will be mainly through Request For Quotation (RFQ) and/or consultation with new and existing customers. The requirement is also to support general managers to renew existing client at the end of their respective agreements.
As a secondary priority the role require take a leading role in developing Reporting Dashboards on BI Platforms (PowerBI and/or Tableau) for key DSV customers. The individual must be comfortable working with Big Data and clean, analyse, interpret and report back on large data sets. The role will also provide Supply Chain Consulting services to DSV customers in the form of Big Data Analytics, Supply Chain Opportunity Assessments, Network Design and Optimisation as well as Inventory Optimisation Services. The individual must be able to manage several clients across different industries and must be capable of gathering and translating their requirements into value adding services.
MS Word and PowerPoint skills is required to package the final solutions and commercials for submission to the client.
The role is critical in the growth of the DSV Solution business units and requires attention to detail, time management and good people skill with internal and external clients.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Engineered Solutions: Identify, analyse & develop value-adding solutions for current & prospective clients;
• Analysis and recommendations
o Data (analysis, comparison, sense checking, cleaning)
o Process (supporting business objectives, complete, accurate, relevant, error-proofed, common expectations covered, measurable)
o Facilities (best practices, flow, flexibility, compliance)
• Costing Model – comprehensive understanding of the Solutions Costing Model
o All costing inputs to be signed off or supported by quotes,
o Effective use of programs like AutoCAD, MS Visio and Power BI, etc to ensured detailed and accurate designs related input into the costing model.
o Good understanding of labour regulations (24hrs operations, shift allowance, shift patterns etc)
o Develop relationships with key suppliers (racking, packaging, sprinklers, MHE etc)
o Verify all productivities used in costings
o Conduct research to ensure productivities used are in line with industry standards
• Supply Chain Optimistion:
o Developing and maintaining Reporting Dashboards using BI Platforms (PowerBI and/or Tableau)
o Working with Big Data: Clean, analyse, interpret and report back on large data sets received from DSV clients.
o Support the Inventory Optimisation services provided to customers
o Support in Supply Chain Network Design and Optimisation
o Support in Supply Chain Opportunity Assessments and Identify Supply Chain Improvement potential for clients

• Warehouse Management Systems – knowledge of key functions and features of systems used by DSV in support of solutions development and implementations. Detailed understanding of cost implications and correct allocation of related costs when completing costing models.
• Business cases/feasibility studies – develop as required depending on financial investment required and risk profile. Tools and aspects to consider include ROI calculations, quantified value, opportunity for product improvements and future growth/revenue potential
• New product development – develop as required new products, tools and solutions that will enhance the Solutions business and ensure future growth. This can include but is not limited to e-commerce, collaborative niche products in Healthcare & Beauty sectors and industry solutions in Automotive.
• Client Relationship management – To develop and maintain sound client relationships based on competence, respect and trust
• Sales Support – Assist with the technical and financial selling to the client with the development and documenting of proposals, response to tenders, RFQs and RFPs
• Operation Review – Evaluate operation against proposed solutions in terms of –
o Solution and Operations review (volumes, resource, MHE, process etc)
o Commercial (revenue, cost, etc)
