ROLE & PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
A General Manager focused heavily on revenue growth and is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of a business operations with the primary goal of increasing revenue. Overall, the General Manager focused on revenue growth plays a critical role in driving the financial success and long-term sustainability of the business by implementing strategic initiatives to increase revenue and profitability. Responsible for managing all aspects of the Woodmead Johannesburg office, including strategic planning, operational execution, and financial performance. You will provide leadership and guidance to the mining team, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, industry regulations, and company standards. Additionally, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and implementing innovative solutions to optimize productivity and efficiency.
Key objectives and responsibilities of this role typically include:
- Revenue Growth Strategy: Developing and implementing strategic plans to drive revenue growth across all business units and product lines.
- Sales and Marketing Leadership: Leading the sales and marketing teams to identify new opportunities, develop innovative strategies, and execute effective campaigns to increase sales and market share.
- Financial Management: Managing the financial performance of the business, including budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring profitability targets are met or exceeded.
- Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction to drive repeat business and referrals.
- Operational Excellence: Ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness across all departments to maximize revenue generation and minimize costs.
- Market Analysis and competitive Intelligence: Conducting market research and analysis to identify new market opportunities, trends, and competitive threats to inform strategic decision- making.
- Product Development and Innovation: Working closely with the product development team to identify and develop new products or services that meet customer needs and drive revenue growth.
- Team Development: Developing and mentoring a high performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks that may impact revenue growth, including market risks, regulatory risks, and operational risks.
- Reporting and Analysis: Providing regular reports and analysis to senior management on revenue performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- People Management
- Healthy and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental policies for the Leica entity.
EDUCATION:
- BTECH / Degree (NQF Level 7) Mining Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Geology/Metallurgy
- Post graduate MBA/ MBL/ Leadership Program
- GCC (Mines and Works)
- 5 years Senior Management experience
- 5 years’ work experience in a Operational Mining environment
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Domestic and international travel will be a requirement of this role.
