Main purpose of role
Play a senior role in an established sales Team as a Business Development Manager responsible for bringing in large and medium scale opportunities and clients on board. These opportunities will be across different market verticals, it is not a specialization role.
Role will also be focused on building and maintaining strategic relationships with clients in need of freight forwarding services.
Individual will be a brand ambassador of DSV making sure that brand is well publicized.
Meeting and exceeding set targets as agreed contractually.
Duties and responsibilities
Attend and complete the designated DSV training for this role.
Ability to sell Ocean Freight, Airfreight, Road Freight, Courier Products
Be able to identify Ideal Client Profiles in line with DSV’s service offering.
Top Management level engagement for new opportunities. Building and Maintaining relationship with key business partners in a manner beneficial to DSV
Acquire new opportunities for DSV for freight forwarding services targeting medium to large scale companies.
Close collaboration with DSV Product Leads, Vertical Leads, Operational Leads to ensure service quality.
Contract negotiations and signing off of new opportunities by relevant Executive Sponsor
Make sure all rates submitted for business opportunities are profit making.
Understand and be able to position DSV’s business value propositions.
Be able to do Consultative selling understanding the clients’ requirements and able to advise given market conditions.
Extensive Opportunity analysis, qualification and value capture for DSV
Fulfill reporting requirements including but not limited to CRM Tool management.
Ability to work under pressure in a corporate environment.
Meet required call ratio weekly with the right quality of engagements all documented in the CRM system.
Sign on business in line with company policy and makes sure all docs submitted for account opening are correct.
Implement and manage all new business signed on before any trade happens.
Responsible to support and resolve with any payment issues from Clients working closely with the Accounts Receivable department.
Keep up to date with market and economic dynamics in order to facilitate more effective customer engagements.
Job related requirements
Minimum 3 – 5 years stable client facing experience with proven track record of meeting and exceeding Sales targets.
Own reliable vehicle
Valid endorsed driver’s license
Ability to work overtime when required.
Ability to travel locally and internationally.
