MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Reporting to the Technical Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Coastal Region Technical team and will be required to assist the Project Technicians with design, draughting and verifications of designs. The incumbent will be based in the KZN Regional Office
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Civil Engineering Qualification (Degree, BTech, Diploma, or N6)
- Fully competent in Temporary Works Design and Construction Methodology
- Fully competent in AutoCAD
- Minimum seven years related experience
- Previous experience running a drawing office would be advantageous
- People and process management skills essential
- Highly computer literate
- Customer-service driven
- Prepared to travel
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:
- Plan and coordinate workload of subordinates
- Plan, organize and control complex projects and make recommendations on alternate solutions to engineering problem, methods, design or equipment
- Manage and communicate efficiently
- Ensure business processes are being implemented and followed
- Ensure that all drawings, designs, and quantities are checked before being issued
