This leadership position is responsible for supporting all strategic endeavors across the International business unit, including but not limited to: development and delivery of strategic growth plans, leadership of select vertical market growth / transformation strategies and competitive analyses, strategy and planning coordination with our internal business partners, development of board materials and other executive communications, participation in M&A due diligence and integration, and ongoing business management such as facilitating business reviews for the International President.

Director, International Strategy & Planning
Dynamics of the Role
We are seeking a Director - Strategy and Planning for our International business. The role is ideally based in the Central/ Eastern Standard time zones –(Chicago/Bogota/Sao Paulo/Toronto) – and there is location flexibility, given the hybrid nature of the role, within markets where TransUnion has an office location. TransUnion is experiencing significant expansion, including entry into new markets and launching new growth initiatives. We continue to leverage capabilities from acquisitions (Neustar, Argus and Sontiq), and the Strategy and Planning team collaborates with senior leaders across multiple regions and vertical lines of business, and other cross-functional groups (Solutions, Operations, Finance, Technology, HR, Marketing, etc.) to develop business plans and strategy for existing and emerging markets.
How You’ll Contribute:
International overall strategy
Work closely with the International President, VP Strategy, and other leaders to drive the strategic agenda and vision Partner with International President, CFO and matrix partners on annual three year planning process. Work closely with the head of the businesses to create a three year strategy for the CEO and Board Act as the “connective tissue” across International to pinpoint pain points and success factors relevant to multiple disparate stakeholders; collaborate across Transunion to ensure pain points are addressed and success factors are communicated and adopted Support M&A efforts as needed, from diligence and integration through to combined strategy development and value realization Create ad hoc strategic analysis for the leadership team
Region and Vertical-specific strategies
With a specific focus on the Americas (Canada, Latin America, Brazil), analyze market opportunities and develop robust strategies to position the company beyond its current operational plans, including: growth and new market entry, organizational transformation and operational efficiency
Communication and presentation
Communicate the International strategy to key stakeholders and associates, ensuring that they understand the strategic plan and how it will achieve TransUnion’s overall goals Develop internal and external communication content for executive leadership, including board materials
Business operations and planning
Develop and coordinate processes for strategy and planning activities across International Leverage strong interpersonal skills to work with key teams and individuals at TransUnion and outside partners, consultants, and suppliers Perform other related duties as assigned

Business strategy skills and experience:
Typically requires 6-10+ years of related business experience; must have strategy or business planning experience. 3-6 years with a management consulting firm is a plus Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or other related discipline. MBA in management/operations is desired or equivalent work experience Must be comfortable analyzing financials, with strong project management skills, problem solving, and business acumen. Attention to detail and high accuracy are critical Proven ability to quickly grasp industry and business-wide concepts in order to assess implications to drive actions and to capitalize on opportunities Broad knowledge of supported business functions, systems, and infrastructure. Familiarity operating within a regulated and highly visible environment combined with a fundamental understanding of the challenges that presents Must have high proficiency in business case development and use of Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); experience with other data analysis tools a plus
Communication skills and maturity to partner with and influence senior stakeholders (SVPs and above):
Excellent communication and presentation skills with experience in providing crisp, insightful information to senior leadership teams Ability to communicate and influence individuals in a range of settings, including presenting to groups and building support for the execution of new strategies, initiatives and approaches Poised and self-assured, comfortable interacting with associates from all levels of the organization
