A Health Tech Solution Company based in Pretoria is actively seeking a Research Audiologist to conduct research, bench studies, and user studies, accompanied by the necessary documentation, to demonstrate the efficacy of products in alignment with regulatory and legal requirements. The ideal candidate should possess an M. Communication Pathology in Audiology. REQUIREMENTS: Minimum education (essential): M. Communication Pathology in Audiology Minimum applicable experience (years): 1 – 2 years (post comm serve) Required Nature of Experience: Audiological research: design and implementation Report writing and documentation Fitment of hearing aids Fine tuning of hearing aid settings Customer relations and relationship management Working in a clinical environment and interacting with both clinical and non-clinical and academic colleagues The development of research protocols and the management and organization of data (user studies). Skills and Knowledge Excellent English skills and communication ability Ability to organize and run a research project High competence in hearing aid fitting/aural rehabilitation Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve research aims and/or clinical goals Computer literacy Essential Competencies: Examining Information Documenting Facts Adopting Practical Approaches Exploring Possibilities Convincing People Team Working Meeting Timescales Checking Things Following Procedures Producing Output Important Competencies: Developing Expertise Interpreting Data Articulating Information Making Decisions Thinking Positively Resolving Conflict Understanding People Valuing Individuals Showing Composure Managing Tasks Upholding Standards Taking Action Seizing Opportunities Research: User and Clinical Studies 60% Conduct user studies, usability engineering studies, RETSPL studies, Clinical validation studies and all other product related studies to support the product development team (including contextual discovery, experience mapping, diary studies, early-stage concept and prototype testing, lab based and contextual usability and accessibility testing). Manage all aspects and requirements of the research study being performed (including planning, time allocation, funding, participant recruitment, performing the relevant testing and documentation). Work with the team to develop and advocate appropriate research strategies to understand user needs for a service, and to continually test and improve the service. Foster a culture of team involvement in user research, team analysis, design rationale and decision making based on user needs. Design, execute and analyse quantitative and qualitative surveys. Effectively document and communicate user research findings to the team and the wider organisation. Prepare reports and relevant documentation required for regulatory submissions. Liaise with the relevant teams to turn user research findings into stories and actions that lead to valuable product and service features. Documentation and certification 25% Assist the Legal & Regulatory team with the required documentation for regulatory bodies. Report on all research in a format acceptable for regulatory bodies. Investigate certification requirements and to give feedback to the product development team. Literature Reviews 15% Keep up to date with new research or publications in the related field of the user studies. Conduct market research to stay up to date with trends and competitors. Document any relevant literature and update the body of literature. Liaise with the Legal & Regulatory team on the knowledge obtained in the reviews. QMS Ensure that QMS guidelines are adhered to. Ensure that all supporting documents are kept to date. Ensure that all processes are kept relevant.
