“Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SENIOR MATERIALS AND PAVEMENT ENGINEER who will be will be responsible for assisting the Roads/Highways section with various tasks including materials investigations, pavement engineering tasks, preparation of tender documents, and contract administration of projects for their dynamic team based in CAPE TOWN.”
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Manage small tenders for survey and soils laboratories. Plan and execute BP investigations and centreline surveys. Conduct general trial pitting and liaise with soils laboratories and Draft materials reports. Conduct visual inspection of gravel and surfaced roads. Assist in pavement and pavement rehabilitation design and Analyze materials results and perform pavement analysis. Assist with traffic data collection and subsequent analysis and conduct economic analysis. Assist in the preparation of tender documents. Administer contracts for various projects.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: A minimum of a B Sc. or B Eng. degree in Civil Engineering. Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration is required. A master’s degree in Pavement Engineering will be an added advantage. Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role. Experience in developing innovative technical solutions. Senior project management experience. A valid driver’s licence is essential. The role may require traveling within South Africa or potentially in Africa. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project is required. Strong technical skills in AutoCAD, Civil3D, Rubicon, and HDM4.
