ENVIRONMENT:
A Digital Consulting Firm based in cape Town is seeking an Operations Manager to join their team. Your assistance at the helm, coordinating key activities within the operational space, will be critical to assisting their servicing existing retainer clients and lead newly acquired clients from around the globe, across industries from Fintech toHealthtech, Automotive, IoT and everything in between. DUTIES: Resource capacity and traffic management: One of your most critical responsibilities will see you managing the company’s resourcing business wide from Design, Digital and Engineering studios. You will be responsible for ensuring that the right resources are allocated to the right projects at the right time and that work schedule forecasts are kept up to date as well as identifying, communicating, and monitoring schedule, resource or forecast risks. In the same vein, you will therefore be responsible for reviewing, negotiating, and approving staff leave applications to ensure there are no schedule risks or conflicts with the proposed leave dates. Staff Performance Alongside the Projects Director and Managing Director you will be responsible for monitoring staff efficiency and performance dashboards, outlining risks and opportunities alike pertaining to billability, upskilling and breakages. Timesheet grooming You will be responsible for grooming day-end timesheets and ensuring that the right tags are applied to ensure the company bills their clients correctly – splitting time between unbillable (breakage, upskilling, strategic) and billable time accordingly. Project budget and progress monitoring and billing cadences In collaboration with Project Managers, you will be responsible to oversee and monitor project progress dashboards to ensure that projects are running on time, on budget and that billing milestones are reached and executed with finance. You will keep the time management software up to date with relevant resource rates so that the company is able to calculate profits and catch and minimise risks leading to losses. Support and Maintenance division The Support and Maintenance manager will report directly to you to ensure that the right level of reporting and charge outs are set across accounts. This includes actioning and scheduling of the company’s Ad-hoc internal requests which is monitored by the SMT manager too. Scope review and contracting flows Alongside the SMT manager who will be responsible for drafting contracts against work breakdown schedules, it will be your responsibility to ensure that those contracts are signed off, sent, signed off by clients, returned and then loaded up into the system for work scheduling. This includes monitoring of retainer contracts that need to be renewed from time to time. REQUIREMENTS: 3 + years in the Technology industry Qualifications: Degree or diploma in project management or administration. *Not required but is a bonus. ATTRIBUTES: Innovative mindset.
