Responsibilities
: Ensure the effective and efficient management of the general accounting function and support of the cost controller function. Understand and meet all finance-related deadlines. Ensure the proper recordkeeping of all applicable documentation. Processing of monthly cash book transactions and bank reconciliation Process all journal entries required to ensure a complete set of accounts per entity/division each month, in compliance with internal control and accounting standards. Processing of monthly unrealized foreign currency exchange gains and losses Manage and control inventory including stock counts. Manage the fixed assets of the company and maintain the fixed assets register. Review and post journal entries received from cost controllers, in compliance with internal control and accounting standards. Prepare reconciliations for all Balance Sheet accounts and the related subsidiary ledger. Review and resolve reconciling items, ensuring the validity and accuracy thereof in the context of the company’s business model and accounting frameworks on a monthly basis. Reconcile all inter-company accounts and obtain written confirmation from the counterparty. Prepare the required templates for Vector reporting with commentary. Upload the required information into Vector and clear all controls. Prepare a review of defined Income Statement accounts and perform calculations or collation of information as required for the annual audit and tax computation requirements. Review and release payments in accordance with general auditing principles and company policy. Perform all month-end close tasks and prepare all month-end reports. Prepare and review the Trial Balance on a monthly basis. Prepare VAT 201 for submission to SARS. Ensure all necessary schedules are reconciled, with necessary support. Ensure submissions are accurate and correct. Prepare the IT14SD recon on a monthly basis. Review SARS e-filing website for any correspondence from SARS and attend to queries, requests, and audits. There should be no penalties raised. All requests from SARS must be responded to and provided without any delays. Fully support the external audit and completion thereof without any delay. Assist the Financial Manager with Budget and Forecast preparation. Build and maintain relationships with Employees, Customers, and Suppliers. Assist the Financial Manager in identifying and implementing process improvements within the Finance department. Provide general training, support, and/or guidance to staff members as required. Ensure that all Finance staff members follow accepted accounting principles. Prepare information and schedules for the annual audit processes and attend to resulting audit queries and requests. Perform any other Adhoc duties as required by your manager or departmental head.

Qualifications: Accounting degree or equivalent qualification. Preferably a minimum of 10 years of working experience; General accounting and financial reporting; Processing onto and extraction of information from an ERP system; Competence in an ERP system (preferably JDE), Software Reporting, Microsoft, and/or Google products. Knowledge of the VAT Act, as amended from time to time. Knowledge of accounting and management principles and procedures. Good planning, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze and present information, manage deadlines, and function under pressure. Be customer focused and exhibit good people and communication skills.
