Job Title: Workshop Manager, Construction

Job Overview:
Hire Resolve is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Workshop Manager for our client in the construction industry based in Bloemfontein, Free State. As a Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of the workshop, managing a team of technicians, and ensuring efficient and effective workflow. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of workshop management processes and procedures within the construction industry.
We are looking for a highly motivated and results-oriented individual who will be responsible for the day to day running of the mechanical workshop and all plant and equipment, small plant and LDV’s hired out. Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for budgets for the purchase of materials, fixings and fastenings and machine tools to ensure the progress of projects through the workshop Management of all operators and field service technicians Lead and supervise a team of technicians and administrative staff in the construction industry. Oversee technicians’ workload, performance, and work quality. Conduct necessary maintenance on construction equipment. Manage the inventory of vital spare parts for construction projects. Maintain control and ensure the standard of workshop equipment and cleanliness. Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules for construction equipment. Establish and enforce health and safety procedures and meet ISO quality requirements for construction projects. Initiate and oversee critical improvement projects across all operational areas in the construction industry. Manage the budget for repairs and maintenance of construction equipment.
Qualifications:
Qualified Diesel Mechanic with 10 years of experience on construction plant and equipment Trade tested as a Diesel Mechanic At least 5 years proven experience as a Workshop Manager or in a similar management Demonstrated leadership and team management skills within the construction industry Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Sound knowledge of workshop management processes and procedures within the construction industry Proficient in MS Office for reporting and documentation Valid driver’s license
