Opportunity at an established, reputable, progressive, forward-thinking Consultancy in Cape Town for an Accountant to join their ranks. The candidate will have a minimum of 3 years accounting experience, preferably in an accounting firm environment, and completion or partial completion of SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles. A candidate with the intention of a long-term commitment would be viewed favourably. Solid experience working with Caseware, compiling AFS and assisting with audits will secure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform high-level accounting duties.
- Preparing accounting work relating to compilations of annual financial statements.
- Preparation and Review of financial statements in Caseware.
- Compilations of Annual Financial Statements on Caseware.
- Perform high-level tax compliance.
- Preparation and Review of management accounts.
- Writing up of more complex accounting records of clients.
- Review monthly bookkeeping / VAT clerks.
- Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis.
- Reconcile Debtors and Creditors on a monthly basis.
- Payroll and other monthly reviews
- Reviewing work done by supervised staff before partner review, where applicable.
- Ad hoc accounting and tax work
- Client interaction and relations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Accounting or similar.
- Partial or completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles.
- AGA(SA) or PA(SA) an advantage.
- Experience with CaseWare, Xero, Pastel, Sage.
Remuneration:
- R20,000 to R30,000 pm, depending on experience.
