Senior Business Partner – Performance & Development
Role Objective
The Senior P&D Business Partner is a key partnership role supporting both senior and operational stakeholders to determine where learning interventions or performance & development support is required.
The Senior P&D Business Partner is responsible for Performance and Development for the South Africa Business.

Government, Non-government and Educational institutions Pricing for new business and ensuring that the solution offered to new clients is deliverable to Execute the P&D imperatives and approach in line with Capita’s Group P&D strategy and area of responsibility. Build strong professional relationships with key stakeholders, including government, non-government and educational institutions, and participate in relevant meetings to actively contribute to the strategic decisions of the business. Leverage strong P&D knowledge to bring insight to support the business agenda and strategy, including driving business projects and outcomes. Train and coach managers and executive leadership and others involved in employee performance development and progression processes. Design and development of the Career Pathway Framework from a competency perspective across the Group. Facilitate progression / succession planning process with responsibility for supporting talent pool creation and scalable solutions that address talent development needs. Design and execution of performance development processes (inc. calibration processes) including leading on design improvements of performance and development systems with systems team. Lead on Capita’s approach to Early Careers, Professional Development and supporting the delivery of the ED&I agenda. Partnering with the business to make data driven decisions leading to delivering high impact and innovative P&D solutions. Develop and manage the performance and development of direct reports and upskill and develop the P&D Community in global solutions. Proactively report on performance, utilization and engagement with global programs. Input into reporting for Enterprise Risk Committee with regards to P&D risks and Mandatory Training Comply with South Africa’s Skills Development Act, Skills Development Levies Act and BBBEE legislation in the management of the 7 Skills Development Categories, in alignment with Capita’s business strategy (see next slide). Develop the Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) and Annual Training Report (ATR) for submission to the Department of Labour and Establish and maintain Capita’s Skills Development Committee in accordance with the legislation Secure skills development funding from the SETA, QCTO, DTIC, and other government programmes for: Training expenditure on black people Training expenditure on black disabled employees Bursaries for black students at Higher Education institutions Implementation of learnerships, internships, and apprenticeships for black people. Expert in acting as a consultant with operational and senior stakeholders, ideally within a large-scale corporate environment across multiple geographies. Deep understanding in learning delivery, design and developing learning content. Experience of managing the roll out of large-scale group wide learning initiatives Project management, leadership, change management, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Strong logistical planning and organisational skills. Experience of managing learning operations, managing utilisation and efficiencies Confident in both written and spoken communication with the ability to present to large audiences. Capable of working collaboratively across multiple teams and geographies Experience of budgetary management Deep experience in assessing organisational needs and developing a variety of learning solutions to drive development and growth within the business.
