Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Developing and maintaining spend category strategies and plans Driving the execution of category plans through formal category management and strategic sourcing methods Benchmarking suppliers/categories, on an ongoing basis, to ensure optimal cost and performance Developing existing and new suppliers’ capabilities, and capacity, to ensure a top-performing supply chain Ensuring effective internal and external stakeholder communication, involvement and buy-in
Strategic Thinking:
Define and implement category strategies to ensure the long-term success of the KFC business in Africa Ensure contingency principles are defined and ready for implementation across suppliers Leverage direction set by Senior Procurement Manager for commodities to setting local direction for long-term assured and cost-optimized supply Build strong and collaborative relationships cross-functionally within our business and in the market with suppliers Understand the macros of Africa as well as legislation that affects supply and build the relevant relationships where necessary to unlock supply risk Ensure effective supply market research, commodity/ indices tracking, sourcing, cost analysis, contracting and supplier management techniques are used which reflects professional purchasing best practice
Planning:
Work with internal stakeholders to provide support where required to enable innovation & agility Actively ensure suppliers are maintaining required resources & stock levels to assure the reliable supply of products and/or service Develop existing and new suppliers’ capabilities, and capacity, to achieve competitive advantage
Execution:
Overall accountable for Quality, Supply & Cost for suppliers Execution of category plans to deliver commercial benefits and risk mitigation Ensure effective negotiations of commercial terms whilst mitigating risk and exceeding stakeholders’ requirements Execution of supply contingency when required Conduct Monthly, Quarterly and/or Annual Performance reviews with your suppliers around the quality of supply, cost of supply and supply reliability Implement appropriate account management practices across the supply base - which include audits, management reviews, performance and risk management Maintain good franchisee, distributor and supplier relationships Ensure effective internal and external stakeholder communication, involvement and buy-in, including franchisees Ensure all category management-related documentation and records are well maintained on the shared folders for knowledge building/retention and audit purposes

Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Business / Engineering / Science
Knowledge and Skills
Problem solving and analysis: Sourcing strategies, Pricing strategies, NPD plans, Regulatory, Demand & Supply Planning and Strategic negotiation Innovation: understand the technology landscape in the market for specific categories. Advanced service & product benchmarking capability Judgment and decision-making: Strategic pricing and sourcing strategies. Risk mitigation and contingency execution. Final authority around sourcing and supply at the optimal cost and service resides within this job Demand & Supply management Influencing Collaborating Long-term thinking Broad Supply Chain experience
Experience
A minimum of 5 to 7 years experience in management roles involved with strategic sourcing Strong commercial acumen, with a track record in driving down total costs for products & services Experience in strategic sourcing and purchase category management, including understanding supplier, product & service cost structures & drivers Experience in managing Technology, Digital & Indirects categories essential Ideally possess experience in formal project management
