You could be the Junior Electrical Engineer we looking for
Job Purpose
To carry out the full spectrum of electronic services design and site inspections
Your key responsibilities will include, but is not limited to:
General
Electronic design. Carry out stages of Project according to the standard PROCSA agreements. Project manage under the supervision of and be responsible to the higher management of the company. Be involved for electronic service designs or services that are created/ devised and then issued out from this office. Financial reports on projects. Meetings with manufacturers and suppliers of materials and sanitary equipment and build a library of said.
Due Diligence Reports
Site investigation with reference to electronic services. Evaluation of the condition of all services in a building.
Concept Design
Attend project meetings to obtain client requirements. Compile preliminary design report. Provide preliminary design drawings.
Detail Design
Attend project meetings.. Provide cost estimates. Provide detail design drawings. Compile specifications and tender documentation. Compile bill of quantities.
Tendering
Call for tenders as agreed per project. Tender adjudication and recommendations. Appointment of contractors and/or subcontractors.
Supervision During Construction
Attend site progress meetings Inspection of works with reference to the tender and specifications. Conduct snag lists and site inspections on a regular basis. Handover of projects on completion. Discretionary Space: The degree to which individuals can exercise independent thought and judgement: Understanding client requirements, interpreting them using engineering judgements and presenting a solution. Interpret situations (internally and externally); apply knowledge of process (discipline; customer requirements) to provide appropriate solutions and make informed project and business decisions. Evaluate project progress and make trade-offs to ensure the best use of available resources. Alert Management or colleagues to issues and risks in any project or the business itself.
Education and experience required:
Bachelor’s Degree or B-Tech in Electronic Engineering or Mechatronics is preferable. Professional qualification in Green Building Design is desirable. Courses and registration in Electronic Building Services Design. SAQCC, CDCDP, Uptime. Master’s Degree is desirable. Minimum 1 - 3 years of experience in Electronic Design.
