Our client is looking for a Senior Account Manager to join their team.
The role will manage and develop the company’s top-tier Strategic client accounts across various regions, industries and capabilities.
Salary: Negotiable
Key performance areas: Establish company credibility through relationships with multiple stakeholders in identified Strategic client accounts. Responsible for various commercial and operational projects. Draw up and implement service level agreements. Monthly client KPI reviews in accordance to SLA’s. Formulate retention strategies in collaboration with company offices as well as partner offices. Formulate growth strategies in collaboration with company offices as well as partner offices. Develop an in-depth understanding of clients’ businesses, their needs and requirements. Leading key engagements with strategic clients. Driving the account planning and sales forecasting processes for strategic client accounts across various regions, industries and capabilities. Lead pricing strategies and commercial discussions aimed at gaining and retaining key clients across various regions, industries and capabilities. Commit to profitability targets for each strategic client account, and report monthly on progress against targets and forecasts.
Skills: Work well under extreme pressure, adhere to deadlines and be a selfstarter. Ability to work independently and be a team player simultaneously. Excellent customer relationship and network building skills. Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, comfortable with fundamental financials, detail oriented. Advanced Microsoft office suite experience. Strong commercial acumen.
Qualifications: Minimum 15-20 years’ experience in International Freight Forwarding and familiar with Customs administration and legislation within Africa and with at least 10 years in a strategic client retention role. 10 years extensive experience in dealing with African markets. Experience in cross border Road Freight. Previous experience in procurement or buying would be advantageous. Valid driver’s License and own vehicle. Able to travel extensively as required for the role (Africa). Must take ownership of the position, be dedicated and innovative. A very good geographical understanding of countries, air and ocean gateways, road freight border crossings and the ability to interface and communicate with different cultures is essential. Must be able to engage and represent the company at a senior stakeholder level. The ability to ensure high standards of quality and service delivery to meet and exceed client expectations. The ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships characterised by sensitivity, support, respect, and constructive resolution of differences and of conflict.
