Project Manager Blasting & Painting within Ship Repair division, to be based at our Durban. The successful candidate must be dynamic and proactive, with high skill levels and competencies.
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
• Ensure that each project meets contractual expectations and is carried out to conform to quality and safety standards
• Analyse scope of work and submit quotation accordingly
• Manage project cost control within the relevant budget
• Manage and supervise blasting and painting team
• Ensure all specifications from clients are recorded and communicated
• Ensure that all coatings are applied according to both client and manufacturer specifications
• Monitor projects to ensure timely delivery while maintaining high standards and cost effectiveness
• Co-ordinate with various departments and sub-contractors to achieve targets in line with the relevant project plan
• Ensure accurate and timeous completion and submission of all invoices
• Ensure that all safety and legal requirements are adhered to
REQUIREMENTS
• Relevant technical qualification – a NACE qualification is highly recommended and preferable
• 8 years Supervisory and/or Project Management experience within a marine blasting and painting environment will be a significant advantage
• Candidate must be willing to travel both locally and offshore at short notice
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• High energy levels
• Organisational and co-ordination skills essential
