Education Requirements

Previous experience as a site supervisor in a solar PV environment advantageous Possesses a robust technical understanding and the capability to communicate complex industry-related concepts with ease HSE experience Knowledge on OSHA, and the OHRVS regulations would be advantageous Proven track record managing a large team Valid driver's license is non-negotiable Willing to work after hours from time to time
Responsibilities
In this role you would be responsible for ensuring that all initiatives align with our client’s overarching goals and objectives. This involves ensuring that all equipment undergoes timely maintenance and repair, adhering strictly to predetermined schedules and standards. You would also be responsible for the monitoring of planned maintenance activities in line with environmental health and safety requirements, capturing maintenance feedback in the management system. Similarly, monitoring breakdown maintenance activities, conducting fault finding and diagnostics on plant equipment, and reporting on all maintenance activities are vital components of this role.
On the reporting front, compiling and submitting reports, logging all maintenance activities into the computerized maintenance management system, and recording and reporting on breakdown maintenance and Eskom planned and unplanned outages are essential tasks. Additionally, ensuring that all environmental health and safety incidents are recorded in the incident register and reporting workers' grievances as per the grievance procedure are part of the reporting responsibilities.
You would conduct all contract administration functions for on-site work in accordance with HSE obligations, monitor HSE aspects by collaborating with the HSE team to identify and address risks, and perform activity risk analysis to guide maintenance employees in working safely and preventing injuries are key duties. Regular HSE audits to ensure compliance with the OHS Act, conducting daily safety toolbox meetings, and ensuring employee compliance with HSE standards are also essential aspects of this role.
You would monitor the plant in coordination with the centralized Control Room, conduct daily site inspections, oversee all daily site activities, and manage a team of Team Leaders. Resolving disputes promptly, conducting inspections and mini audits to ensure continuous compliance with O&M on the plant, and managing and performing work during weekends and public holidays as per a scheduled roster are also part of the job.

Previous work in solar farms or a related field would be an advantage Must have: Strong leadership and team management skills Should know: Maintenance management systems and HSE regulations Must have: Excellent communication and report-writing skills Must be: Self-motivated and self-driven Expected to: Work weekends and public holidays based on rostered schedules A bonus if: Able to speak Afrikaans
