Hire Resolve’s client is a leading Property Development firm that is urgently seeking the expertise of a Quantity Surveyor in George, WC.
Responsibilities:
Preparing details to complete tender documents Preparing and pricing bills of quantities for contracts based on drawings and specifications Preparing Bills of Quantities and other tender documentation to acquire fair and equitable tenders for projects Preparing feasibility studies and budgets for proposed projects Negotiating building contracts Completing tender documents Arranging the necessary guarantees on projects as required Assist and/or prepare construction programme Prepare project cash flow forecast Liaising with and maintain good relations with clients, site managers and subcontractors Drafting contract documents Preparing sub-contractor payment advice and reconciliations for interim payments Prepare sub-contractor final accounts with reference to final valuations Preparation of monthly interim valuations/claims for submission to clients taking all variations and additional work into account Monitoring costs to ensure contract is performing according to budgets Ensure that supplier costs are in line with budgetary allowances Monitoring costs and reporting to clients during the design and construction of projects Assisting the site manager to control the cost of the project Making application to the architect or client for confirmation of verbal instructions issued on site Documenting changes in design and updating budgets Identify discrepancies between budgets and actual costs and escalate to Managing Director immediately Advising on contractual matters impacting on project performance Determining final costs of projects Preparing final cost report on overall performance of completed projects Ensure that all tasks and duties are executed and completed in strict accordance with the ISO standards as implemented by the company
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or related field Professional registration with relevant industry bodies (. SACQSP) Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor Proven experience in managing costs and estimating quantities Proficiency in cost estimating software and tools Strong knowledge of construction contracts, regulations, and industry standards Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
