Responsibilities
:
Provide excellent communication to all Customers, Suppliers and Management in South Africa.
Ensure that all transporters are contacted and kept updated with regards to progress and delivery changes.
Ensure that all relevant and correct documentation is handed to the transporter prior to each upliftment.
Ensure the pre-departure and debriefing of transporters for any special requirements of the client.
Respond to telephone calls regarding breakdowns, accidents, and delays. Liaise with loading and offloading sites with regards to any delays that you may be faced with.
Use personal judgment and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles.
Ensure that Transporters are contacted and kept updated with regards to their progress and delivery changes.
Keep your manager updated at all times with regards to progress or delays with regards to any deliveries.
Customer Service
Working with Customers, planning routes and scheduling delivery and always meeting and exceeding
Customers expectations. Build and maintain relationships with key customers, both internal and external.
All other actions required for successful delivery to clients.
Assist with queries relating to your shipments.
Transport Procedures Daily planning, routing and scheduling of vehicles Ensuring all cargo uplifted from the Port within the allocated timeframe and turned in on time avoid demurrage/storage charges Ensure that all transporters are contacted and kept updated with regards to their progress and delivery changes
Ensure that all relevant and correct documentation is handed to the transporter prior to each upliftment

Escalate any issues which cannot be resolved to management, advising whether any pending claims so that management may action accordingly. Ensuring all loads are adequately insured and high value loads monitored from loading to delivery
Adhering to booking slots for direct deliveries Understand the cargo loading and dispatch procedures.
Understand the requirements and working procedures Invoicing and Purchase Order Procedures
Key Skills:
Analytical thinker with mathematical abilities,
Excellent organization skills required to manage tight deadlines,
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Matric,
Knowledge of Pastel evolution will be an advantage,
Ability to work independently and coordinate with other departments of the organization,
Qualifications:
Degree in logistics or accounting.
2+ years in a logistics role.
Experience in the FMCG Industry.
