Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure that you thoroughly inspect scrap metal to be purchased and display same openly for photographing
- Ensure that the requirements of the Second-hand Goods Act are complied with when buying by accurately recording all information required under the Act
- Ensure that captured information and photographs is correct
- Sorting and grading of ferrous and non-ferrous material
- Accurately weigh customers metals for purchase
- Identifying stolen and inferior material and report same to management immediately
- Accurately updating customer information
- Ensure metal purchased is secured immediately after purchased and not re-purchased
Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria:
- Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
- Computer proficiency; packages required: MS Word, Excel
- Good numeracy skills
- Able to liaise professionally with customers, suppliers & colleagues
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work quickly and under pressure
- An excellent knowledge of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
