About the Role
The incumbent will provide strong technical skills, support and dedication to the manufacturing plant and ensure continuous operation of production machinery with little to zero downtime. What You Will Do
Work towards a Zero-breakdown & Zero-Stop-mentality by providing an efficient service to manufacturing plant and maximize machine availability and efficiencies through good maintenance practices.
Carry out prompt and effective break down repairs, planned and routine maintenance.
Reduce the maintenance costs including working capital reduction for spare parts through proactive planned and preventative maintenance of machinery in the manufacturing plant.
Effective collaboration with engineering team and internal stakeholders to minimize the impact of machine changeovers and resolve breakdowns with the least production downtime.
Ensure product quality and reduce waste by guaranteeing that machines are correctly adjusted and running according to specification.
Report to the Maintenance/Projects Manager the machine conditions, performance, spares used and breakdown details.
Work continuously in adhering to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality standards and all company Standard Operating Procedures.
Responsible for participation and provide support & knowledge in project work and new equipment installations.
Perform machinery upgrades, modifications and rebuilds under the guidance of the
Maintenance/Projects Manager and Technicians whilst ensuring that accuracy and defined engineering standards are adhered to and completed within determined time frames.
Perform lathe, milling and general machining work where required in the manufacture or modification of machine parts.
Carry out HSE inspections and audits as requested.
Who You Are
Must have matric and a valid Fitter and Turner Trade Qualification;
Must have 3 years’ post trade experience in manufacturing environment servicing general mechanical equipment;
Further qualifications in the maintenance and operation of FMCG, automated production line and general mechanical equipment will be advantageous;
Experience in the maintenance of air conditioning, dust extraction, boiler, cooling water and compressor systems would be advantageous;
Excellent and clear communication skills (verbal and written)
Must be able to exercise patience, courage, problem solving and critical thinking.
Be able to collaborate and work across functional teams.
