Director – US Treasury

Scope
- Manage daily cash balances, including monitoring and forecasting cash flow requirements. Implement strategies to optimize cash positions and maximize returns on cash investments.
- Work hand in hand with the capital markets team on all matters related to the company's debt portfolio, including loan agreements, interest rate management, and debt compliance.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect the company against financial risks, such as interest rate risk, foreign exchange risk, and credit risk. Monitor market conditions and recommend hedging strategies when necessary.
- Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions. Negotiate banking services and fees to ensure competitive terms. Stay informed about industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact banking relationships.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports and covenants packages related to treasury operations. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to treasury operations. Work closely with the legal, tax and compliance teams to address any compliance issues, including but not limited to new and updated know your customer (KYI) items.
- Oversite of wire confirmations & approvals, stop payments review & processing, and data storage of historical and working files upkeep for auditor reviews.
- Ensure timely, accurate communication while upholding and fostering an outstanding relationship with internal and external parties.
- Prepare reports and presentations, telling a concise and compelling story with the data presented.
- Use lease knowledge, industry trends and commercial judgement to analyze tenant data to highlight trends and provide business insights.
- Develop new methods of reporting and evaluate existing tools across the team to drive improvement.
- Identify internal training opportunities and partner with leadership and other teams to develop metrics and provide training.
- Review current systems and methods to gage if what can be done to improve what and how we work for future.
- Review material prepared by the analysts to ensure accuracy and provide training where needed.
- Additional reporting and analysis related to treasury, capital markets and business affairs functions as may be required.
- Other duties as assigned by the department head.
What we are looking for
- BA or MS degree in Accounting, Finance, or CFA/CTP certification preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in treasury management, strong knowledge of cash, debt, and risk management principles, preferably in the commercial real estate industry.
- Advanced computer skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel (building complex financial models, using Xlookup/Sumif formulas, pivot tables and data tables).
- Proficiency in working with data across various software systems, databases, and online platforms, preferably in BofA’s Cashpro system.
- Experience using an ERP software such as JD Edwards/E1 would be a plus but is not required.
- Solid understanding of financial statement analysis, accounting, and corporate finance concepts.
- Superior communication skills and strong work ethic.
- General analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills coupled with the ability to take initiative, draw conclusions, and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
- Detailed and results-oriented individual who strives for continuous improvement.
- Ability to prioritize and simultaneously work on several concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Experience working within a collaborative team environment, involving mentoring peers, and servicing both internal teams (accounting, finance, leasing, asset management, center operations, etc.) and external parties (lenders, tenants, attorneys).
- Focus on Process Improvement through leveraging latest available tools.
