Overview
Our client is looking for a PLC Technician to join their exciting team.
Salary and Benefits: Negotiable
Duties: • Create and read logic and flow diagrams for program design, programming, and commissioning
• Create and read electrical schematics
• Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and replace process instruments as a part of the plant's maintenance
program Ensure accuracy of transmitters, sensors and measuring equipment in the plant Maintain and improve on existing SCADA and reporting system Maintain process instruments including valves, vibration monitors and other instruments • System monitoring, maintenance and troubleshooting operational problems
• Development of programs to suit processes according to international standards Integrate plant machinery into a cohesive whole- incorporate into visual Scada system Improve on HMIs for visual and data clarity – declutter and simplify Track and improve utility usage across the plant – All equipment and utilities tracking, measuring and record analysis Assist with and support Engineering Projects • Configure other automation devices, such as VFDs for automation/control
• Training of technical personnel on PLC, VSD and servo systems
• Provide technical support where required
Skills: • Ability to work at a very fast pace; Analytical and accurate
• Strong knowledge of FMCG manufacturing processes, bakery preferred
• Attention to detail; Sense of urgency; Must be able to handle pressure
• Good problem-solving skills; Good decision-making skills
Qualifications: Instrumentation mechanician Trade Test or equivalent
• 5 or more years’ experience in PLC programming required – applicant’s knowledge will be tested
• Proficiency with multiple manufacturers automation hardware and software specifically Allen Bradley,
but other manufacturers as well.
• Experience in reading and modifying electrical control schematics – applicant’s knowledge will be
tested
• Knowledge of servo motion controls systems and/or robot motion control
