Governance and Livelihoods Agenda (AgendaGL) was founded in 5. AgendaGL is a dynamic NGO that aims to contribute towards uplifting communities’ livelihoods by nurturing the leader in each child and woman. They believe that individuals with independent and transformed minds are leaders capable of bringing about positive change for themselves and those around them. This is possible with quality and relevant support in a safe and enabling environment. AgendaGL also engages with systems of governance in ensuring that they are responsive and accountable to those they govern and the governed have the capacity to effectively hold such to account. AgendaGL is one of the partner organizations implementing a national programme Promotion of Social Cohesion and Prevention of Collective Violence aimed at strengthening community-centric violence mitigation and conflict management; and to contribute towards strengthening social cohesion.
Governance and Livelihoods Agenda is seeking to employ a Senior Project officer to be based in Ethekwini, KwaZulu-Natal Province.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The incumbent for the position must be someone who
- Has a clear track record in community facilitation, community development, conflict resolution and youth development.
- Has the ability to plan and execute project plans independently.
- Has a strong work ethic, is proactive and takes initiative
- Ability to work within a multi-cultural team.
- Is highly energetic, sociable and approachable
- and as a high level of emotional maturity
REQUIREMENTS:
- A university degree in the Social Sciences, Conflict Management and Development or any other related qualification with 5 years’ experience.
- Demonstrable experience on community facilitation and conflict management
- Demonstrable interest in community development work
- High level of computer literacy
- Ability to write reports of high quality
- Must be an iSiZulu speaker.
- Drivers’ license
