Responsibilities
:
Manage and oversee the import/export operations of the organisation.
Ensure compliance with all import/export regulations and laws.
Prepare and manage documentation for the customs clearance process.
Coordinate transportation and logistics activities with suppliers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs officials.
Prepare and analyse reports on import/export activities, including shipping schedules and costs.
Develop and implement strategies to optimise import/export operations and reduce costs.
Track cost savings on the company's Savings Tool (iSAVE)
Support all business units in regards to imports, exports and transport of goods
Establish an internal cartography of main routes (imports, exports and transport)
Negotiate and establish a transport price data base for main routes (agreements)
Manage transport documentation for import & export purposes, if required.
Duties:
Identify and analyse the transport needs of the company (main routes)
Identify potential suppliers (shipping and transport companies)
Prepare a transportation plan for the company (defining volumes)
Support in the development of the sourcing strategies by identifying value creation opportunities and supporting in the sourcing execution.
Support with the negotiation process to optimise logistics costs (local agreements)
Establish a transport price data base for main routes
Implement the logistics agreements across all operational divisions
In charge of raising order requests for transport on internal ERP system (Latis)
In charge of the follow up and tracking of shipping/transport orders
Submits regular feedback on activity (budget follow up, evaluation of suppliers)
Track and report savings on the Company's Savings Tool (iSAVE)
Identify risks and strategic project demands to produce enhanced business results by focusing on delivering customer service excellence and shareholder value.
Perform any other duties required by your designated departmental manager.

Qualifications:
Qualification in Logistics / Freight Forwarding / Imports / Exports
At least 5 years of experience in import/export operations and logistics management
In depth knowledge of import/export regulations and laws.
Experience in customs clearance and transportation logistics.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Proficient in the use of ERP Systems (SAP and LATIS) and Google Suite.
Experience in Imports / Exports of hazardous goods and chemicals.
Experience in Imports / Exports into African countries.
