Sanlam Developing Markets (SDM) (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited) is one of the top financial services providers in the South African entry-level and emerging middle market. It aims to understand the unique requirements of clients and offers a wide range of simple and affordable financial solutions that cover needs such as funeral insurance, savings for education, life cover, and personal accident plans. In terms of the Sanlam Group Governance Policy, SDM is managed by the SA Retail Mass cluster, which is part of the Sanlam Life and Savings cluster within the Sanlam Group. The cluster focuses on retail products, as well as group schemes.
Responsibilities
- Onboarding and Administration: Conduct checks for all new appointments, assist with training material orders, prepare and upload documentation, ensure training registers are updated, complete termination forms, and upload performance management documents.
- New Business Processing: Ensure new business is checked and processed within 24 hours, follow up on outstanding requirements, assist outsourced brokers, conduct internal audits, and ensure adherence to business rules.
- Policy Servicing and Broker Service: Resolve all queries, assist with client-related queries, handle policy information requests, and build relationships through service.
- Retentions Reporting: Ensure MIS bundles are provided, correct rejections, analyze reports, and contribute to Persistency and NTU rates.
- Ad hoc Administrative Support: Provide technological support, manage resolutions of facility issues, assist with stock management, ensure compliance with legislative requirements, and complete filing and reception duties.
Experience
- 2 - 3 Years’ experience in an administrative capacity in an operational environment.
- Experience in the insurance industry would be advantageous.
- Experience working on office management or task management systems (MS Outlook / Teams).
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12).
- Diploma or degree in a related field will be advantageous.
