We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Digital Communications Officer to enhance our brand's digital presence, support digital fundraising efforts, and engage our audience through a compelling organisational content strategy. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and executing an integrated content plan for organisational communications across diverse platforms, fostering a thriving online community, and driving impactful brand growth. As our Digital Communications Officer, you will lead effective communication efforts with external partners and the public regarding all organisational projects and activities, under the mentorship of our Senior Communications Manager.
Key Focus Areas
Digital Communications Strategies: Develop and execute digital communication strategies for the organisation with the Senior Communications Manager, ensuring they align with our goals, resonate with target audiences, integrate fundraising goals, and have a robust content plan for organisational communication.
Content Creation and Management: Create and manage adaptable content for social media, websites, blogs, and email campaigns, showcasing the organisation’s impact and initiatives. Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all channels, actively engaging the online community. Utilise tools like Canva, Animoto, and Adobe to produce high-quality multimedia content. Stakeholder Engagement and Analytics Implement targeted digital engagement campaigns with the Senior Communications Manager, focusing on specific audiences and outcomes, including fundraising. Collaborate with the communications team on compelling content, prepare performance reports, and optimise strategies with analytics. Support event planning and promotion to enhance the organisation’s expertise and audience participation.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Implement Digital Communications Strategies
● Work closely with the senior communications manager to develop comprehensive digital communications strategies aligned with our goals and priorities.
● Execute comprehensive digital communication strategies that align with our overall brand objectives, resonate with target audiences, integrate fundraising goals, and are fueled by a robust organisational content plan.
Content Creation and Management
● Create a dynamic, adaptable organisational content plan that spans various platforms, including social media, website, blogs, and email campaigns, highlighting our impact, initiatives, and innovations.
● Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all digital communication channels.
● Foster a vibrant online community through active social media engagement, responding to comments and inquiries, moderating discussions, and cultivating relationships with potential donors and supporters.
● Utilise your expertise with apps like Canva, Animoto, and Adobe to design and produce high-quality multimedia content, including graphics, videos, and animations, that enhance our brand's visual identity and storytelling.
● Demonstrate proficiency in updating and engaging across diverse digital platforms, optimising content for each channel to maximise reach and impact.
Stakeholder Engagement
● Work with the Senior Communications Manager to implement targeted digital engagement campaigns to reach specific audiences and drive desired outcomes, including country-level campaigns and fundraising.
● Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling digital content that supports fundraising initiatives, including donation appeals, impact stories, and donor recognition.
Analytics and Reporting
● Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of digital communication efforts.
● Leverage analytics to track the performance of digital campaigns and content, report on interventions, identify areas for improvement and explore alternative strategies to enhance outcomes.
Event Support
● Support the planning and promotion of all events (including project events, webinars, and conferences) to showcase our expertise and foster knowledge exchange.
● Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful event execution and audience participation by mobilising awareness and participation through digital platforms.
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or other relevant field
Skills and Requirements for this role
Experience
● 5+ years of proven experience in digital communications, marketing, or a related role, demonstrating successful communications asset creation, campaign execution, audience engagement, and ideally, some digital fundraising experience
● Professional experience in web development, communications, social media, and digital campaign management
● Proficiency with Content Management Systems, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Canva
● Proven experience in designing and delivering innovative and effective digital communications across various channels
● Knowledge and understanding of communication practices, tools, and techniques in social media
● Good design and project management skills
● Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
