OEM Certified Kitchen Equipment Installer & Maintenance Technician: MAURITIUS
Requirements:
- Certificate / Diploma / Degree in M&E, Preferably Non-Executive specialising in Electrical or equivalent.
- Certificate or extensive experience in working with LPG installations and equipment - Required .
- At least 2-4 years of hands-on experience in servicing & repairing fast food kitchen equipment (e.g., bun toasters, electric and LPG fryers, broilers, small refrigeration units, etc.).
- At least 2-4 years of hands-on experience installing a complete BK kitchen from start to finish.
- OEM technical certifications for the installation, starting-up, commissioning, repairing and maintenance of the following brands of kitchen equipment are required and are non-negotiable :
- Franke kitchen solutions—Burger King Specific (extraction hoods, fry dispensers, heated prep boards, etc.).
- Nieco broilers (LPG & Electric, including the FH94 models).
- Frymaster fryers (LPG & Electric).
- Henny Penny fryers (electric).
- Manitowoc ice machines.
- Taylor C606 combo machine.
- Carpigiani K3E combo machine .
- Experience servicing and maintaining large refrigeration equipment (walk-in chillers and freezers) is an advantage but not essential.
- Medically fit and willing to undergo related medical tests to obtain a work/occupation permit.
- Valid passport.
- Valid driver's license (LVM).
- Computer literacy is a requirement (Sound MS Office knowledge is essential).
- Efficient budget management skills are an advantage.
- English proficiency is a must. French is a bonus but not essential.
- Able to work after office hours (on-call) and extended hours when required, including weekends and public holidays, due to the nature of the business.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Willing to travel (driving) within Mauritius frequently (>80% of the time).
- Willing to travel to undergo training abroad if and when required.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for installation, troubleshooting, regular maintenance and servicing of the critical kitchen equipment and electrical appliances.
- Responsible for carrying out scheduled preventive maintenance exercises and routine inspection checklists.
- Carry out reliable and effective maintenance work within the timeline/standard and the set budget.
- To standby and carry out repair work after office hours (based on shift).
- Update and keep proper maintenance record files.
- To assist the restaurant supervisor or manager/Maintenance Manager/General Manager in enhancement projects to reduce downtime and improve quality.
- Report all in-restaurant non-compliances immediately to the area manager.
- Maintain a safe and pleasant working environment.
- To prepare maintenance reports as and when required.
- Be able and willing to take direction from superiors when required and work as a team (more importantly).
- Question the status quo continuously to achieve overall business improvement.
- To evaluate and report on store maintenance conditions.
- To perform any other duties and responsibilities as and when necessary.
