As a Retail Business Manager at L’Oréal, you will play a crucial role in leading and inspiring your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences while achieving ambitious business objectives.
A DAY IN THE LIFE:
Sales & Performance Management:
- To develop the business within the responsible region to achieve retail targets
- To allocate sales targets within region and to drive sales growth;
- Manage the travel retail distribution channel in South Africa, Mauritius & Réunion inter alia ;
- Identify business opportunities;
- Lead, manage and participate in negotiations;
- Participate in and implement L’OREAL Group annual plan to guarantee sell out targets and business
- Analyze key performance indicators, identify trends, and implement strategies to optimize performance.
- Develop turnovers and profitability, manage operating accounts of the geographical Zone
- Gather, analyze and coordinate information and tools available (ex. local markets panels, media plans, passengers’ traffic...etc.) to become an expert on the geographical zone.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, lead, and motivate a high-performing team through effective coaching, mentoring, and training
- Manage BA (recruitment, objectives, oversee the training of BA by RT) and facilitate daily BA coaching (service, winner, My Beauty Club animation, etc.)
- Ensure a physical presence on the field close to the teams (internal and retailers)
Develop and set up a global Sales strategy:
- Recruit, lead and develop teams on the field (Regional Coaching Managers, Regional Trainers, and Beauty Advisors) based upon pre-determined priorities and objectives)
- Participate in and implement L’Oréal Group’s annual plan with Area Manager to guarantee sell out targets and business
- Develop strong professional relationships with key accounts, be their privileged business partner (annual negotiations of margin, space, stores visibility, market share, animation plans, category management projects...)
Visual Merchandising & Store Operations:
- Maintain a visually appealing and impactful store environment that aligns with brand guidelines and optimizes the customer journey
- Allocate BA and promotors per brand with Area Manager
- Guarantee successful operational implementation in the Field and guarantee brand-image, monitor shop quality and merchandising
- Work with Visual & Retail Merchandisers for orders, planograms, installation and visual database
Collaboration & Communication:
- Partner effectively with area managers, marketing teams, and other stakeholders to align on strategies, share best practices, and drive business growth.
- Communicate effectively with your team to cascade information and ensure alignment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a team to achieve shared goals
PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Proven Retail Management Experience:
- 5+ years of demonstrated success leading and managing a team in a fast-paced retail environment, preferably within the beauty industry.
- Produce reports and analysis (performance, competitors / Field activity)
- Monitor resources allocation within the budget
- Supervise Retail implementation (projects, event…) and action plan in the Zone
- Ability to pursue turnover and profit optimization
Strong Business Acumen:
- A strategic thinker with a knack for identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities, negotiating effectively with stakeholders, and translating plans into successful outcomes
- Solid understanding of retail metrics, sales analysis, inventory management, and profit and loss statements.
- Masters brand selling scenarios
- Sets negotiation priorities
Customer-Centric Approach:
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and building lasting relationships.
- Manage intermediate agent relationships
- Collects and connects comprehensive knowledge about the retailer/prescriber/Salon
- Influences the retailer/prescriber/Salon and builds retailers development plans
- Adapts brand distribution strategy
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- A data-driven individual who excels at analyzing information to generate insights, closely monitoring performance, and identifying solutions to optimize results.
Results-Oriented & Adaptable:
- Proven track record of exceeding targets, driving sales, and thriving in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.
- Follow-up and improve on sell out and results
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commercial or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of retail management experience.
- Able to travel regularly within South Africa and internationally as per the allocated regions;
- Preference will be given to South African citizens and those who legally qualify to work in South Africa
- French speaking MANDATORY
