MAIN PURPOSE
• Assist the branch manager in ensuring that stock items are appropriately and correctly handled and binned to minimize shrinkage. Also to ensure FIFO system is being followed. Make recommendations and forward ideas to the branch manager to improve efficiency in storage, handling of stock as well as stores layout/flow.
• Inspect, examine, quote, assemble and load test manual hoists and lifting tackle
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensuing internal control procedures are maintained regarding inventory items entering and leaving the store area.
• Ensuing an inventory “vacuum system” is always maintained.
• Restricting of access to the store, with visitors being accompanied at all times.
• On-time signing of waybills for goods received.
• Inspection of all incoming inventory items to ensure that the goods are undamaged, and are in-fact the correct goods as ordered.
• Ensuring that only goods are received for which purchases orders are raised.
• Ensuring that damaged stock, in the process of being received, is reported without delay to the branch manager and isolated in a quarantine holding area. Photographs are also required to be taken.
• Assisting in the investigation of discrepancies relating to goods transfers.
• Receiving goods on the ERP system within 24 hours of physical receipt.
• Following up with the branch manager on goods received for credit, to be processed within 24 hours of being received.
• Ensuring that all inventory items are always located at bin locations.
• Ensuring that the ERP system is maintained frequently, specifically relating to bin location maintenance.
• Ensure that the store is always kept tidy, by virtue of daily housekeeping.
• Accompanying the branch manager on daily store walkthroughs and giving feedback on queries raised.
• Ensuing that inventory items are always handled with due care to avoid possible damages.
• Reporting of stock discrepancies to the branch manager and assisting with the investigation process.
• Identifying soon to expire inventory items, and the reporting thereof on a frequent basis to the branch manager.
• Ensuring that stock is dispatched using a “first in first out” basis.
• Ensuring that goods to be dispatch have been packed and prepared adequately.
• Maintaining a tracking system of goods situated in the dispatch cage and reporting back to the branch manager.
• Informing the branch manager should any stock items appear to be close to being “stocked-out”.
• Ensure personal protective equipment is worn at all the times and safety equipment is used where necessary.
• Receive product from the Strip and Wash bay Technician
• Ensure Tag or Label relate to the parts received
• Ensure the Job card relate to the parts received
• Ensure that the scope of work to be done is clear
• Complete the “date and time received” column on the Job card
• Attend to the examination of all the parts and prepare a list of faulty parts
• Where necessary take photos of faulty parts for record purposes
• Place parts back in bin when done
• Separate the faulty parts from the good ones and mark them as such
• Take the bin suitably marked with its label and place it in the “awaiting go-ahead” area
• Inspect and examine all lifting tackle
• Hand completed Job card to Works Supervisor to cost and quote customer
• Ensure to complete the “date and time completed” column
• Ensure housekeeping is attended to
• Assist with load goods.
• Perform a checklist of goods loaded for delivery and note any special instructions.
• Assist with offloading goods at customer’s premises.
• Ensures that all relevant documentation is signed/completed by the required parties.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on trip sheets
• Ensure vehicles are fuelled and roadworthy.
• Inform Management when vehicles are due for service.
• Keeps the assigned vehicle clean.
• Report any incident, accidents, or other problems/vehicle conditions.
• Operate the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner
• Any adhoc duties as requested by management.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
• Good English, written and spoken
• Skilled in coordinating deliveries
• Trustworthy
• Candidate must be very organized and able to prioritize tasks
• Ability to perform duties and deliberate speed and accuracy without immediate and constant supervision
• Candidate must be friendly, personable and able to build harmonious working relationships with clients, co-workers and general public
• Ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and protecting confidential information
• Must have a driver’s license
