We invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Head of Supplier Development position within the Supplier Development Department . The position will report to the Procurement Executive and is based in Dunnottar, Nigel (Gauteng Province).
Job Purpose
- The Head of Supplier Development will take ownership and coordinate all activities within the Supplier Development division.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit execution.
- Supplier Capacity Ramp up.
- Developing Black Women Owned (BWO), Black Owned (BO) suppliers as well as Qualifying Small Enterprise (QSE).
- Developing Local-local suppliers and reporting progress on them.
- Supplier Crisis management.
Responsibilities
- Compliment and assist in driving the contract deliverables regarding preferential procurement deliverables with BWO's, EME's and QSE's. Review and strategise the most optimal solution for suppliers in crisis incorporating outside consultants/ contractors if necessary.
- Drive and co-ordinate the teams to prepare the monthly Procurement Steerco deck and agenda.
- Define the annual objectives for the SD team and adjust the strategy where and when necessary to fulfil production and company requirements.
- Drive high level discussions and co-ordination with the various teams in the organisation. Teams include Sourcing, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, Project Management and EXCO.
- Contribute to customer feedback where necessary on supplier performance, challenges and developmental contributions.
Minimum Requirements
- Industrial/ Mechanical/ Electrical Engineer or other Engineering disciplines.
- MBA Desirable.
- Production, Quality, Processes knowledge in various environments, MS Project, Fluent in English, B-BBEE and Transformation.
- Strategy development and Execution.
- Autonomous and global vision.
- Good leadership/management skills.
- Drive and capacity to influence a various range of stakeholders including the board and the customer.
- 30% travel to suppliers, 70% office based.
