Purpose: The Client Partner is responsible for leading the overall client relationship. In addition, the role is responsible for directing & guiding the overall team to deliver exceptional services to the client. The Client Partner is thus tasked with the profitable and efficient running of the client portfolio.
Relationship Management & Client Deliverables:
- Develop a strong relationship with the key personnel at the client.
- Be the final escalation point of contact for client queries.
- Lead, grow, and win the client over by providing and encouraging strategic, inspiring, and innovative solutions.
- Act as a client visionary by bringing a highly valued perspective to the client based on a deep understanding of their business, issues, market, and opportunities.
- Ensure that we are engaging client across a full range of our services/platforms.
- Continually identify opportunities that make the agency indispensable to client, whilst having the ability to professionally and persuasively counsel, push back and redirect client when necessary.
- Work directly with clients and the Strategic Account Directors to develop clear business cases around opportunities for engagement.
- Oversee & advise the Strategic Account Directors on the staffing, resource, and process decisions when it comes to the resources servicing the client.
- Ensure that the agency team is translating vision and innovative strategies to tangible action plans and operational success for client.
- Translate the client’s needs into clear direction and leadership for resources working on the account.
- Track and course-correct service and operations delivery.
- Oversee and manage key transformation projects.
- Understand and maintain practical knowledge of tools in order to apply global and local best practice in strategic output.
- Understand the competitive landscape to ascertain whether we have a competitive offering, and where we do/ don’t, identify key product/ team growth areas (within prescribed/ mandated tools/ areas) to develop to be competitive.
- Ensure service delivery to client through regularly meeting and touching base with Strategic Account Directors.
Effective Commercial Dealings
- Effectively oversee and advise the Strategic Account Directors on annual fee and team structure negotiation with clients.
- Present strategic business plans and accurately forecast client revenue.
- Work with the Strategic Account Directors to ensure effective and accurate annual and quarterly budget forecasting.
- Generate ROI for the client whilst maximizing the profitability/targets – identify incremental revenue opportunities.
- Identify and effectively mitigate financial risks for the agency and client.
Leadership:
- Proactively lead to ensure that the team are always delivering their best and are contributing to the company’s goals.
- Ensure that the Strategic Account Directors are growing a high performing team that meet business objectives and goals and can effectively and exceptionally service the market.
- Regularly check-in with the Strategic Account Directors to gain insightful information on their progress and performance and give them regular feedback, advice, guidance and mentorship.
- Assist both the client and Strategic Account Directors with challenges they are facing and, advise and train them when required.
- Develop thought leadership presentations to be shopped to client as added value.
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 12 years’ work experience as a Client Lead in media/communications related business.
- Extensive experience in managing large projects.
- Demonstrated experience and success working with the key decision makers of a global organization.
- Full comprehension of business principles, good practice and business complexities and perceives issues in both financial and commercial terms.
